At Hope Learning Station, a program of Tripura Foundation, learning is about much more than academics—it’s about nurturing confident, curious, and compassionate children. Throughout our June to August 2026 curriculum, students strengthened foundational literacy and numeracy skills, explored the world through engaging general knowledge topics, celebrated meaningful occasions, and developed leadership and character. Each month introduced new themes and opportunities, keeping learning fresh, engaging, and purposeful.

Here’s a look at how our students learned and grew over the past three months.

A Daily Anchor: PI Practice

Every day, students began with PI (Phonemic Intelligence) technique practice, twice a day. This daily routine provided consistency, helping children build focus, confidence, and discipline while preparing them to learn. As new students joined Hope Learning Station, they were introduced to PI so everyone could grow together with the same strong foundation.

June: Building the Basics

June focused on strengthening core skills for both age groups (3rd–5th grade and 6th grade and above).

Foundational Literacy began with the essentials—capital and small alphabets, as well as varnamala, vowels, and consonants for Hindi learners—before progressing to picture description, vocabulary building, and word activities such as missing letters and unscrambling words.

Foundational Numeracy introduced number series, multiplication tables, division, place value, and comparing numbers, while also helping students build practical life skills by reading simple bills and solving word problems.

Students also participated in dedicated Math Table sessions and classroom activities focused on place value.

Beyond academics, June’s Personal Thought Practice (PTP) encouraged children to reflect on good appearance, personal hygiene, and healthy daily habits. Through the Hope Lead Student Leadership Program, students completed the Appreciating Our Community Hero activity by creating handmade appreciation cards for the everyday heroes in their communities—reminding them that leadership begins with gratitude and kindness.

June Observances

July: Numbers Take Center Stage

July brought a structured and progressive focus on numeracy for the older students, beginning with number series and place value before moving through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and finally division with word problems.

For 3rd–5th graders, the month centered on learning to read and write numbers from 100 to 999 in manageable sections (101–300, then 301–500, and so on), while continuing to strengthen number comparison skills.

Literacy remained an important part of the curriculum, with the month concluding with lessons on alphabets and phonics sounds.

Each week also introduced a general knowledge theme that encouraged curiosity and broadened students’ understanding of the world:

Self-Independence and Communication

July’s PTP theme, Self-Independence, encouraged students to take responsibility for their own learning, decisions, and goals.

The Hope Lead Student Leadership Program focused on communication, giving students opportunities to share their vision for their communities with their teams while learning that the way we communicate reflects our values and character.

July’s celebrations included:

  • Doctor’s Day (July 1)
  • World Population Day (July 11)
  • Youth Skill Day (July 15)
  • International Tiger Day (July 29)
  • Guru Purnima (July 29)

August: Applying and Expressing

August will bring together everything students have been learning by encouraging them to apply their knowledge with greater confidence while expressing themselves creatively.

Foundational Numeracy will advance the children to writing multiplication tables, reading and writing 3- and 4-digit numbers, place value, and later multiplication, division, integers, and fractions.

Foundational Literacy focuses on reading with understanding, sentence framing, root words, prefixes and suffixes, and phonics sounds.

General knowledge lessons will take students on an exciting journey through the Solar System as well as the continents and oceans of our world.

August’s Personal Thought Practice will explore the importance of positive thinking and self-expression. Students will discover creative ways to express emotions through painting and drawing, offering a meaningful outlet for self-reflection and confidence building.

The Hope Lead Student Leadership Program theme, Self-Awareness and Empathy, will encourage children to recognize their own strengths and emotions while learning to understand and care about the feelings of others.

August also will include celebrations for:

  • World Organ Donation Day (August 13)
  • Independence Day (August 15)
  • Senior Citizen Day (August 21)
  • Raksha Bandhan (August 28)

Looking Back, Looking Forward

Over these three months, our students have grown in many meaningful ways. Daily PI practice strengthened focus and discipline. Literacy and numeracy lessons built academic confidence. General knowledge topics inspired curiosity about the world. Leadership activities, Personal Thought Practice, and cultural celebrations helped nurture empathy, confidence, gratitude, and a stronger sense of community.
