They say ‘A family with an old person has a living treasure of gold’. But, when the elders are destitute with no place to go and no food to satiate their hunger, it is our responsibility to take care of them and support them. About 75% of the elderly population in India is from a marginalized class of society. Most end up in absolute destitution during the final years of their lives when they have neither the capacity nor the ability to work.

Tripura Foundation India promotes efforts so that our children at the 85 HoPE Learning Centers could deliver meals and clothing to the poor and the elderly people. This was started during the Diwali holiday in October, 2013. Since then, we have encouraged generous individual donors to sponsor the needs of 85–90 of our neediest elderly villagers.

The focus of this program is to:

  • Care for the elderly and abandoned.

  • Develop compassion in our children.

  • Help the elderly lead a quality and a contented life.

  • Provide required medical assistance and safe living conditions.
