Tripura Foundation Conducts Impactful Road Safety and Awareness Program for HOPE Children in Partnership with Honda CSR
Trichy, Tamil Nadu | 4 July 2026
Tripura Foundation, in collaboration with Honda Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, successfully organized a comprehensive road safety and child awareness program on 4th July 2026 at the Children’s Traffic Park, Trichy. This initiative formed part of our ongoing commitment to holistic child development and community safety through the HOPE Centers network.
The program was designed to address two vital areas of child well-being: adherence to traffic rules and personal safety. The Tamil Nadu Government’s flagship ‘Singappen’ initiative (focused on women’s Safety and Empowerment) played a pivotal role, with its specialized team delivering targeted awareness sessions for both girl and boy students.
Program Highlights
The day-long event brought together 90 students from six HOPE Centers across the region. Conducted in a practical, interactive format at the Children’s Traffic Park, the program combined theoretical instruction with hands-on demonstrations. Participants received training on essential traffic regulations, safe pedestrian practices, road signage interpretation, and emergency response techniques.
In parallel, the Singappen team conducted dedicated sessions on child safety, emphasizing personal boundaries, recognizing unsafe situations, and promoting gender equality and mutual respect. These sessions were thoughtfully tailored to be age-appropriate while delivering powerful messages of empowerment and vigilance.
Student Reflections
The program received highly positive feedback from the participating students, who recognized its immediate relevance to their lives. Several students shared their thoughts:
“This program taught us how to stay safe on the roads and also how to protect ourselves. I feel more confident now when I travel to school.”
— Harish Ragav., HOPE Center Student
“I learned many new traffic rules today. The practical exercises at the Traffic Park were very helpful. Everyone should attend such programs.”
— Kavi Pradath, HOPE Center Student
“The Singappen team explained child safety in a simple and clear way. It is very important for both boys and girls. Thank you Tripura Foundation and Honda for organizing this.”
— Shathana., HOPE Center Student
“The session made us understand that safety is everyone’s responsibility. I will share what I learned with my family and friends.”
— Shila, HOPE Center Student
These testimonials underscore the program’s effectiveness in not only imparting knowledge but also fostering a sense of responsibility and empowerment among the children.
Significance of the Initiative
Road safety and child protection remain pressing concerns in our society. Through this CSR-supported collaboration with Honda, Tripura Foundation continues to bridge the gap between awareness and action. By equipping underprivileged children with practical life skills, the program aligns with broader goals of sustainable community development, inclusive education, and the empowerment of future citizens.
The active participation of the Tamil Nadu Government’s Singappen team further enriched the event, demonstrating the power of public-private partnerships in addressing critical social issues.
Acknowledgements
Tripura Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Honda Company for their steadfast support through this CSR project. We are equally thankful to the dedicated Singappen team and all volunteers, educators, and coordinators whose efforts ensured the program’s success
Looking Ahead
Building on the success of this event, Tripura Foundation remains committed to expanding similar awareness programs across its HOPE Centers. Future initiatives will continue to focus on road safety, child protection, health education, and life skills development, with the ultimate goal of creating safer environments for every child.
We invite individuals, corporates, and government partners to join us in this meaningful journey toward a more secure and empowered society.
