Empowering Girls Through Every Thread

As part of its ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment and skill development, Tripura Foundation’s Free Tailoring Center organized a Summer Tailoring Training Camp during the months of April and May 2026 in Trichy. The program was specially designed for young girls who had recently completed their Higher Secondary examinations, enabling them to make productive use of their summer vacation while acquiring valuable vocational skills.

A total of 10 female students enrolled in the two-month training program. Classes were conducted daily for two hours, providing structured instruction in basic tailoring techniques, garment stitching, measurement taking, cutting methods, machine operation, and finishing skills. The training combined both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, allowing students to develop confidence and hands-on expertise.

Throughout the program, the tailoring instructor dedicated her time and effort to guiding the students with patience and professionalism. Under her supervision, the participants demonstrated enthusiasm, discipline, and a strong willingness to learn. The training not only enhanced their tailoring abilities but also encouraged self-confidence, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

At the conclusion of the training, an assessment was conducted to evaluate the skills acquired by the students. Out of the 10 participants, seven successfully completed the program and met the required standards. In recognition of their hard work and achievement, certificates were awarded to the successful candidates during a small certificate distribution ceremony.

This summer training initiative has equipped the participants with practical skills that can contribute to their future employment opportunities, self-employment ventures, and financial independence. By providing vocational training to young girls, Tripura Foundation continues to create pathways for personal growth and economic empowerment within the community.
